what are your fees?
Spiritual direction is $60 per session. But money should never stand in the way. I'm happy to work with you; just let me know, and we can agree on an investment that works for you.
Traditionally spiritual direction is done once a month.
what does a spiritual direction session look like?
Sessions are usually about 50-60 minutes long. I like to start each session with a time of silence to let your soul arrive. After the silence, I might read a blessing, poem, prayer, or psalm, or maybe there is a question or experience you have brought that you want to explore.
Spiritual direction is a time for you to talk about the questions, longings, sparks, and joys you notice in your life. I might ask a few questions along the way, reflect on what I hear, or, more importantly, invite you to listen to what you’ve said!
can i book a trial session?
Yes! The first session of spiritual direction is always free. It's a time for you to decide if spiritual direction is what you are looking for and if we are a good fit for each other.
Are you lgbta+ affirming?
Yes!
do i have to be a practiceing Christian?
No! I believe that listening to our lives, longings, hopes, and questions are vital for human development and growth. I was trained in the Christian tradition of spiritual direction.
how is spiritual direction different from coaching or counseling?
Spiritual direction is about the process. Coaching and counseling are outcomes and problem-based practices. Spiritual direction is about formation, growth, longing, and becoming. I won’t keep notes, make assignments, or follow up on progress unless you bring it up in another session. Each session is about what Love (God) is unveiling in you and for you now.
what is your training?
I completed a two-year training program, which included a wide range of learning, mentoring, and training in the practice and philosophy of spiritual direction and supervision. I am a Spiritual Directors International (SDI) member and have taken several classes and additional training offered by SDI. I've been reading books related to spiritual direction, formation, and growth my entire life.
where are sessions held?
I work both online (Zoom or Google Meet) and in-person in downtown Boise, Idaho. Online spiritual direction works really well, most of the work I do is online.
